CLINICAL FINDINGS
57 year old white female presented with a 2 year history of telangiectasias that first appeared on her lower extremities and then generalized (Figure 1,2,3). Patient denied family history of telangiectasias, epistaxis, GI bleeds and history of connective tissue disease. Past medical history was significant for frequent tanning bed use and intake of raloxifene.
Skin biopsy revealed dilated vascular channels without inflammatory infiltrate consistent with clinical impression of generalized essential telangiectasia (Figure 4,5). No evidence of significant solar elastosis to suggest actinic etiology of telangiectasias was noted on the biopsy. Laboratory workup which included ANA titers was unremarkable.
